Apples for the Students

Greer’s is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. The well-being of all of our customers and employees and their families is an important part of our Greer’s Team Vision,  “To bring added joy, well-being, and value to people’s lives.” This is Greer’s fourth year to participate in the Presidential Award-Winning Program – Apples for the Students.  Continuing to offer Apples for the Students was an easy decision to make! The Apples Program enables us to not only bring “joy” to the students and teachers receiving awards but to put the “well-being and value ” portions of our vision into action in each and every community we serve.

Education, next to the health of our children, is the number one concern of parents today. We, at Greer’s, care about the education and well-being of our children and youth and the dedicated teachers and administrators. At Greer’s, we are parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, and we are concerned about educating our children and youth. Many of our part-time employees are high school and college students working to fund their educational goals. We are concerned that budgets continue to be cut forcing many teachers and administrators out of their chosen profession.  We are also concerned when we hear that fund-raising continues to decline due to the economy, extra-curricular programs are still being eliminated, and teachers are purchasing even more supplies out of their own pockets.

For over 20 years,  Apples for the Students has worked with grocery stores to provide more than $250 million dollars worth of FREE computers, equipment, programs, and educational tools to local schools.  The Greer Family and our family of employees are all proud to be a part of the Apples for the Students program through Associated Wholesale Grocers.  Providing FREE educational equipment and supplies to participating schools in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida through the Apples for the Students Program is an important part of Greer’s community involvement.

Unlike traditional fund-raisers, Apples for the Students is easy and fun. Since many of your students’ families currently shop at our stores, your school already has a strong base of support for this program. Best of all, everyone in your community can take part. It’s not limited to your school’s students, administration and faculty. In fact, the more outside interest and enthusiasm generated, the greater the benefits to your school.

We know of no better way to serve the community than by enhancing the educational and developmental environment of our children. We look forward to your school’s success in this year’s program.

Good Luck!

Activate and/or register your school using the School ID Number that can be found on the inside cover of your School Coordinator Guide. After completing your registration a User Name and Password will be generated for you. Make sure to keep a record of both for each subsequent visit to the site.

Yes. Every school must register each year to be eligible to join the program.
